An Attorney who is in
Good Standing with the District of Columbia:
- has been duly admitted to practice before the District of Columbia
- is not currently suspended or disbarred
- is currently registered with the District Court
- is not in arrears in the payment of any fees required by the Court
A US District of Columbia Attorney Good Standing Certificate is a one page document issued by the Clerk of the District Court which bears the seal of the Court and signature of the
Clerk of the Court.
An appearance before the US District of Columbia on behalf of another party or a class may be made only by an Attorney who has been admitted to the Bar of or permitted to practice before
the Court.

- Attorneys who are active members in Good Standing of the District of Columbia
Bar; or
- Attorneys who are active members in Good Standing of the Bar of any state in which they
maintain their principal law office; or
- In-house Attorneys who are active members in Good Standing of the Bar of any state and who are authorized to provide legal advice in the state in which they are employed
by their organization client
