A Virginia Supreme Court Attorney Good Standing Certificate is issued by the Virginia Supreme Court, the highest court in the state judiciary of Virginia, for an Attorney who has qualified to practice law in the state of Virginia.

Procedures for Obtaining a Certificate of Good Standing from the Clerk of the Supreme Court If you are an attorney who is presently licensed in the Supreme Court of Virginia, and in good standing with the Virginia State Bar, you may request a Certificate of Good Standing from the Clerk's Office. Virginia Supreme Court Good Standing Certificates are often requested when a Virginia Attorney practices outside of the state of Virginia.

If you are a practicing attorney in the state of Virginia and you need to practice outside of Virginia some non-Virginia courts will require certification from the highest court in Virginia. In Virginia the highest court is the Virginia Supreme Court.
